Dr. John Timothy Carmack, MD, MPH, received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, in 1989. He is board-certified with 25 years of experience in emergency medicine. He graduated from the 2006-2007 inaugural class of the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation Claude Moore Physician Leadership Institute, the James M. Johnson Physician Leadership Program, and is a graduate of the United States Air Force Commanders Development Program and the Air War College, Maxwell AFB, AL.
Dr. Carmack served 29 years with the United States Air Force both Active Duty and Reserve Components. Colonel Carmack supported numerous operations during his career and deployed multiple times in support of Operation Iraqic Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Freedom Sentinel. Colonel Carmack retired in January 2021 from his position as the State Air Surgeon with the Florida Air National Guard.
